Five top interior designers – Brian Patrick Flynn, Alex Gaston, Kate Jackson, Drew McGukin and Brian Paquette – sourced stylish, sophisticated and durable Sunbrella fabrics to design their dream space for Perspective New York, a Sunbrella interior design event recently held at the Highline Stages in New York City’s bustling Chelsea neighborhood. Sophie Donelson captured some of the excitement for EditorTV, an online video series from The Editor At Large that provides insider access to the hottest interior design events and industry tastemakers.

The excitement and energy of the event was palpable as top members of the interior design community gathered to see the five designs come to life in full-scale interior design vignettes.

Newell Turner, editorial director of Hearst Design Group, was especially excited to see how the interior designers used Sunbrella fabrics in new and exciting ways. For instance, interior designer Alex Gaston, design director for high-end boutique design firm Mark Cunningham, Inc., created an inviting black and white interior design vignette with subtle creative details. A Sunbrella fabric upholstered wall featuring a woven argyle-like texture and a large custom sectional upholstered in a ribbed white Sunbrella fabric make the space feel sexy and luxurious, yet durable and livable.

Though interior designer Alex Gaston has worked with Sunbrella fabrics in the past – Gaston was the lead interior designer for the Perspective Atlanta loft – he was pleasantly surprised at the selection of luxury Sunbrella fabrics available to the interior design community. In Gaston’s Perspective New York interior design vignette, high-end residential design and Sunbrella fabrics create a match made in art-inspired, interior design heaven.
